Nature
Intent – Our aim is to improve our wildlife area within our Forest School setting. We plan to create habitats, plant wildflowers and also encourage the wildlife to take shelter within our forest.
Implement – Our eco team wanted to pant some fruit and vegetables around our playground along with planting flowers to brighten up our school. We have noticed the bees enjoying the flowers as they have been popping in to see how much work we have been doing. Within our forest school area, we have planted some bulbs and making mini-beast hotels to attract all wildlife. We also had an afternoon where we tidied up our forest school area by litter picking, reusing pallets to make a bench and create a more homely area for everyone to enjoy.
Impact – We have noticed more bees around our school since planting the flowers. The children wanted to learn more about bees, so we created lesson plans within our forest school to explore more of this. The children have become more confident around insects and wanting to learn more about them. To help with nature, we have a ‘Pre-Loved’ area within our school office. Parents can come and buy second hand uniform so that companies make less clothes.
