Our Nature topic 25/26
Intent: To plant wildflower seeds in designated areas of the school field to encourage biodiversity and support local wildlife. This initiative helps pupils to appreciate and care for God’s creation, recognising our responsibility to nurture and protect the natural world.
Implementation: A planting schedule has been established to organise when and where the flowers will be sown. The Eco-team has selected a variety of flowers, including wildflowers, poppies, sunflowers, forget-me-nots, cornflowers, and daffodils. Wildflowers will be planted around the edges of the school field to encourage biodiversity and support local wildlife. The remaining plants will be grown in empty plant pots on the playground, creating attractive and educational spaces for pupils. Through this project, pupils are actively participating in caring for God’s creation and enhancing the natural environment of the school.
Impact: We are now seeing more wildlife in the areas the plants have grown.
